PM to inaugurate first coal, cement terminal today
The premier will inaugurate Pakistan International Bulk Terminal at the Port Qasim, according to officials, and hold meetings with Sindh government officials and the business community.
Sharing details of his visit, Director General Press Information Department Sikandar Shah told The Express Tribune that after the Port Qasim inauguration, the PM will review the law and order situation and hold the meetings at the Governor House.
“It is his one day visit and PM will return back to Islamabad in the evening,” he said.
The terminal was completed at a cost of $285 million early this year, according to a press statement, and has so far provided berths to 12 coal ships. It has been dredged up to 13 metres and is capable of handling ships of up to 65,000 tons.
